Dolly heads back west & visits with "mountain doll" in Cle Elum, Washington...

Traveling Dolly arrived at Mountain-doll's home in Cle Elum, Washington on Wednesday, Sept. 8th. Since she didn't arrive until early evening, she spent the first night showing off her souvenirs and clothing to Ginny and Mountain-doll's daughter, Jazy.

They were really impressed by Dolly's haul and had a lot of fun looking at all the treasures.

Thursday morning Dolly headed off to visit Ellensburg, about 35 miles away, and the hub town of the Kittitas Valley.

Dolly's first stop was to visit the Ellensburg Bull - located in the middle of downtown - at the Rotary Park.

Dolly then made a stop at the Ellensburg Library to see Kitt Coyote. Kitt stands guard at one of the entrances and encourages reading.

After stopping to shop for souvenirs, Dolly made her way back to Mountain-doll's house in Cle Elum. Since it was such a nice day, Dolly decided to help Mountain-doll finish planting her front flower bed.

She was really happy with the end result!

To round up her afternoon, Dolly and Ginny had a tea party outside - where Ginny presented Dolly with a pretty wicker basket to hold her tea set and a picnic blanket.

Friday morning dawned bright and clear so Dolly and her new friends spent the morning playing soccer. Dolly learned some new tricks and was rewarded when her new friends gave her a soccer ball and carry bag.

Afterwards, Dolly headed out to explore downtown Cle Elum.

Dolly posed next to the "Welcome" sign.
Since Cle Elum sports many camping and fishing sites, Dolly decided to visit the local ranger station.

She learned about fire safety and stopped to purchase some pictures of local wildlife from a friendly ranger.
From the ranger station Dolly headed up to Roslyn, WA.

In Roslyn, Dolly visited the Roslyn Cafe - made famous in 1990 when the television series "Northern Exposure" choose Roslyn to be their "Cicly, Alaska".

Dolly also stopped by the Brick Tavern - show cased in the television show and also the oldest operating saloon in the state of Washington: complete with running water spittoon!

They wouldn't allow pictures inside, though.
After such a busy day, Dolly spent the evening going through her new souvenirs and getting ready to head off on the next leg of her journey. From here she heads to Wackomom's house in AZ.
Dolly is hoping to find some nice warm weather! The Northwest is already heading into fall!! Brrrr!
