Dolly's first time in Utah visiting "crowwhite" in Logan, Utah ...
and she also gets a special visit from another eBaying Dolly friend "yellow_teapot"!

Dawn was barely breaking as Yellow_Teapot (Bonnie) and her DH, Richard left Salt Lake City on their way north to meet Traveling Dolly and Crowwhite (CC) who were driving down the mountain from Logan, Utah. Everyone was very excited to have this fun adventure with Dolly. After meeting and exchanging greetings they were on their way to a famous place in Railroad History, Promontory Point. Promontory Point is better know as the Golden Spike National Historic Site, the place where East met West and the first transcontinental
railroad line was completed.

Dolly and friends perch on the Golden Spike sign.

Dolly watches a reenactment of the two trains meeting from East and West.
Dolly inspects the spot that the Golden Spike was driven.

Dolly and friends visits with the nice U.S. Ranger in the gift shop. Dolly and Crowwhite pose with the colorful steam engine The Jupiter

The engineer and Dolly become fast friends. The Westbound train is called the 119.

Dolly posed with the grizzled engineer of the 119, he was quite taken with her and asked her to share a ride in the steam engine, but she declined politely.

A trip back to the gift shop for souvenirs.
But the day isn't over, yet. They were too close to not stop and see the rockets and space memorabilia at Thiokol, the infamous makers of
the NASA "O" Rings.

Bonnie wasn't tall enough to put Dolly on the rocket.

  AND AWAY WE GO......
Next stop and interesting art and sculpture site, mostly metal and made out of old farm implements, etc. It was really difficult to take pictures of, but we all agreed it was amazing.

Crowwhite (CC) is sending Dolly to drbell21 tomorrow.
We will miss her. Hope she enjoyed her visit to the Mountain West!
